15" 2.4 ghz or 2.5ghz

Hi, I'm going to be buying either a 15" MacBook Pro. Is there a big difference between the 2.4 and the 2.5ghz? I will be using programs such as : Adobe Creative Suite 3, Adobe Illustrator CS3, Aperture 2.0, etc. Would specs should I be looking for in my MacBook Pro?

Also, Would it be in my best interest to just go ahead and get th 17" ?

Oh, and I've been told not to bother with the apple care warranty, is this true? or should i just get it?

There's no way I could warrant spending an extra £300 (or what ever the jump is in the US) for an extra 0.1GHz. I could buy two of the same processors with the extra cash.

I'd say go with 2.4GHz and use the extra money to up the RAM.

I second that, although the 2.5 has more l2 cache (6mb instead of 3mb) I don't notice any slowdown at all on my 2.4

I've just purchased a 2.4GHz Penryn MBP today and have noticed no difference whatsoever between it and my previous high end 2.4GHz SR. I think Penrym seems snappier! Love the multi-touch as well.

Yeah, go with the RAM boost...if you do it through someone other than apple it's a lot cheaper apparently too (I learned this after the fact haha)
