Partition size for Win XP

I'm a new Mac user from the PC world. I've recently used Boot Camp to partition the hard drive to load XP and the Windows programs I frequently use. Can I access files stored on the Mac partition while using the Windows applications? I made the Windows partition 80 GB. Many thanks, Tom
