Can not see workgroup computers?

Im new to macs but not computers, i recently installed the new mac firmware update and now i can't see any of the surrounding computers on my network whereas before we shared files, it was very convenient.

I have no idea where to look because my "Network" has disappeared from my finder completely.

How do I find my Network or fix this new problem presented to me.
