Mac Sleeping lid closed

Hi Guys

Is there anyway of turning the sleep mode off when you shut a lid on a macbook.

And if there is is there anyway of doing it through apple remote desktop

It is possible, but it's not usually a good idea.

It goes to sleep as a safety measure, to prevent you from packing up and moving a computer that's on, and potentially damaging it either by having it overheat, or by jolting it while the hard disk is working. (Of course, everybody thinks they're too careful to do this, but it happens anyway.) If the computer is being moved, it should be asleep.

If it's not being moved, you can turn off the display backlight by turning the brightness to zero. (Leopard lets you turn off the display completely.)

Alternatively, you can close it and connect an external keyboard, mouse, and display. The computer will wake up when the external devices are connected.
