As a complete novice to making music on my Mac I was wondering if anyone could let me know what I would need to connect a MIDI keyboard to my Mac to use with Garageband. Does a simple USB connection from the keyboard to the computer work?

Any pointers would be most welcome.

Yamaha PSR 2000 and Macbook Pro 15"..

Hey..

What about a Yamaha PSR 2000? At its ports it says "to host", and I can choose among others "mac". Is this port with a USB in the other end? Will only the midifunction be open then, or can I play on my keyboard AND record my singing voice from keyboard also?
