The backlit keyboard won't go away when i press the button to decrease it. It does this when it's dark in the room, but then when i turn on the light, it doesn't go away. I kind of wish i had my old MBP when i had the option of turning it completely off.

Way... way too many specs to list.
Sure you do. Keyboard and mouse. Keyboard tab. Uncheck Illuminate Keyboard under low lighting conditions

Does it turn off if you press f5 to turn it all the way off? If that turns off then, but it just stays on even when you are in the light, maybe your light sensors are blocked by particles of something. Don't know, just a guess.

Is there a way to turn keyboard lighting ON when you want it? I can only see that you can turn if OFF if you dont want it on during low light conditions. What if you want it ON at times of regular light????

Labtick to the rescue.

Allows you to adjust your keyboard exactly how and when you want it.

And it's free. But, if you find it useful, the developer could use a little donation.

Why do i need a software to do this for me? This is ridiculous that Apple couldn't build their models right in the first place.

While I understand where youre coming from, Id ask you to pick your battles. This isnt one of them that you should let bother you. Id rather be upset that Apple wont let me install an nvidia 8800GTX M in my Pro. That's meaningful.
