Itunes and Ipod

iBook G4.
If I were to delete all my songs from my hd would I lose all my songs off my ipod when i plug it in? If so can i turn the auto sync off?

1) PLEASE! It's iPod and iTunes!

2) You would lose all your iPod songs, unless you turn AutoSync off. To turn AutoSync off, make sure you have iTunes 4.7, and then go to iTunes Preferences -> iPod (make sure it's connected) ->manually manage library.

3) Why would you delete all your songs, just out of curiosity...

Just to save some space my hard drive songs take up alot of memory
