easiest way to back up mail

Been using Leopard Mail for a while now and I would like to backup the emails that I have stored in it.

Whats the easiest way to do this?

Are using Time Machine? The Mail databases are in your Users/Library/Mail folder.

No I don't use Time Machine. Not that keen.

What are you going to use for the backup? If you get an external hard drive you could use Time Machine, quick easy free...

You could try this method
Before TM I used the Achieve to back up my mail boxes .
Highlight your mail box in the lefthand pane
Choose Mailbox in the menu bar
Achieve mailbox and then point to a destination in the drop down pane.

I used to do it every month I renamed them Mbox jan..blah blah..
