imac g3 help

I am installing os x on these g3s I got and I am not sure if I need to install os 9 as well. If someone could help me out with this that would be great.

2xiMac24 w Parallels 6 (1x White, 1x Aluminum), iPhone 3GS with iOS5
The short answer is yes.

You must load OS 9 and bring it to 9.2.2 and then upgrade the firmware from OS 9. THEN you can insert the OS X and proceed. You can load up to Tiger and you should be good to go. Let us know how you make out. You will also need to max the ram on your G3.
