Battery thing on the menu bar

My MacBook is currently telling me that I am 100% charged (I'm not, I've been sitting on the sofa with it unplugged for half an hour) and that I have 10 hours of charge left.

What's with that? What's going on?!

I had the same thing happen on my ibook, I went through a charge cycle, and restarted the machine and its back to normal now and it worked itself out. If that doesn't work the next thing I would have done would be to reset the pmu. hope you have the same luck
