Your Mac's Specs
iMac = 20-inch, 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, 320GB HD, Leopard. iPod Nano = 4GB, Silver
I just want to double check and confirm some things.

What can be 'upgraded' on my iMac?

I have this...
iMac, 20-inch, 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Apple Mighty Mouse
SuperDrive 8x (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB (upgraded the RAM)
Apple Keyboard + Mac OS X
Apple USB Modem
320GB Serial ATA Drive

I know for a fact that the RAM can be upgraded to 4GB RAM max
Processor GHz?
Hard Drive? (I understand I can buy seprate USB HD's)
Graphic Card?

If anything can be upgraded, do I contact Apple who I bought it from?

The only things you can upgrade without voiding your warranty is the memory and HD. There are instructional videos on Apple's site to guide you through these processes.

Already been through this myself. The iMac is a closed machine by nature. Although in saying that, you may be aware of the new iMacs just released, with the option of the 8800 graphics card on the top model. On a recent telephone conversation with apple support, the guy seemed to think that you could upgrade to the spec of that latest Mac.

As you have the 20inch model however, I'm really not sure, as this high spec option is available on the new 24inch.

So RAM and hard drive are your options I think!

Thanks JohnTheMacGeek and slinki for your replys, this is excatly what I'm wanting to know:)

The new 8800 graphics card would be nice to have if I started to play games on my iMac, like the SIMS. But I have all the SIMS for windows so might just fix my old HP desktop (NZ$250.00) and use that for SIMS.

I think the graphic work I do isn't enough to worry about upgrading my graphics card, if that could be done.

As for the RAM and hard drive, that's easier enough to get and do.
thanks
