Should I install an antivirus program or firewall on my new ibook when I get it? If so, can you recommend any? Any freeware ones?

OS X has a built in firewall (System Preferences -> Sharing)
You only need a virus program if you are connected to a windows network. There are no viruses for Macs but you can still pass them along to windows computers on the network

You don't need anything third party unless you need to network to windows computers. Open system preferences, sharing and turn on the Mac firewall. That's all you need. I recommend NOT using Norton
