i dont know if i would qualify for either of those categories.

Kilted which one are you?

I suppose I'm a bit of both. I find some things easy but lots of everyday stuff really foxes me... I've been married for 14 years and I'm still trying to work out how women think...
So I'm about average I think...:D :D

You can geek out on pretty much anything, so I would suppose all of us are a geek in some sense of the word, being a nerd is much more narrowed though it it's quite a bit harder to nerd out on things.

Yes! Geeks are nerds with no friends, nerds are geeks with friends.

I like to think I'm a nerd.

1)maybe
2)nerds get laid and geeks dont? or the other way around? I dont know

I used to work as an editor for a fish magazine. My boss told me that she heard people calling us the "fish nerds." (I never was really into fish; it was just a job for me.) She said, "We're not nerds! You know why? Because we both have sex lives! Nerds don't have sex!"

Strange how she knew because I never discuss sex. :)

I guess I am a music geek but even more homed in on jazz, barbershop and piano but I do know tons about anything musical anyway I am constantly being asked questions in my music and music tech class from the teacher and students needing help. I am also pitch perfect and can tell what any arrangement needs to get it a better mark that is probably why fellow students ask me to help them on sections :p

YAY ME :D

I'm responding to this before I have a chance to read the other responses.

1. Is there a difference ?

I don't think there's a difference that matters.

2. What is it ?

Ask 10 people, get at least 10 different answers.

3. Which are you?

Honestly, I don't know and truly I don't care.

My brother could be a bike geek. The first day he got one of his various bikes he kissed it good night. ;D

I'm pretty much a geek when it comes to techie stuff. I was kind of a nerd in school, not so much because I was particularly brilliant but because I just didn't fit in too well most places. Now my techie-geekiness tends to come in handy because people think I'm smart, and as an adult, that's a good thing.

I gave punkr0x0r rep for his definition. :)

When it comes to drums, I'm a geek and nerd. Not only do i have knowledge on the types of drums etc. I know what types of wood, the arrangement, the methods of compression etc, gives certain types of sound.

Back in middle school, I played Dungeons and Dragons for a little bit. Would that make me a 'nork'? Or a 'neek'?
