I have a 3 year old Imac G5. Recently it has started to randomly power down. I rarely turn my machine off, leaving it in sleep mode overnight. The powering down usually occurs when the machine is starting up from the sleep mode and often happens 2 or 3 times in quick succession. It then stays on and appears to work normally.
Any ideas?

perhaps its because its heating up....try checking your fan... It might not be working that good... hehe. My powermac G5 duel powers down now becuase of my fan not running that good.. it heats up ... and just turns off. So you might be having that problem.
