Green dots? How many?..

okay so when you first join the forum you start off with one green square..
just a question = is it the amount of posts you do to get another one
(if so how many)
or is it just a continuous stream of good posts ..?

I think that has to do with you rep. Say helpful positive things. And you get good rep. Be dumb, and get negative. You can click "Profile" up top to view your rep.

Use the search to find a proper list of rules regarding reps. It starts of in multiples of 100 points and then gets more difficult I think.

Negative rep for not searching the forums first. Just playing.

The best thing to do is to just post and not worry too much about rep.

Hey eric, I noticed your from cali, and sporting the 559. Madera? Fresno? I am a 209 myself (but right on the edge) I used to live in the 559 area. Wow, thats a few people on this board that I know of that live very close to me. (DTravis scares me though, so I dont tell him exactly where I live ;D )

my lifetime points is 2 for inappropriate language when I first got started here and didn't know the rules (read: too lazy to read them). Plus I've had a couple non-point warnings. One for language when I used *s instead of letters.

The other was for posting a story about a certain popular tech website posted a story on a certain illegal thing to do with Apple software. I was trying to explain how terrible it was for them talk about something so blatantly against EULA and not trying to publicize their story. But I guess it doesn't matter what the context, you can never ever discuss anything against EULA on this forum, even if you're post is against it. In fact, I hope I don't get a warning just to saying this much!
