NVIDIA or ATI Radeon better???

Hi all -
I am ordering a new PowerMac G5 next week!!! I plan to use it primarily for video editing. I cannot find much information about the two different graphic cards offered. I really need to find out which one i should order!! Can anyone tell me which is the better choice?

Give Apple a call. They should be able to tell you the basic difference of each card.

Well, if you're looking at the high end cards, the Nvidia Geforce 6800 GT and 6800 Ultra are currently the best. I mean apple chose the Ultra to use with its crazy new 30" monitor.

Well, I've had some good experience with Nvidia, I have a GeForce FX GO 5200 in my PowerBook and it's fast as ****, but for your G5, I'd go for the 6800 GT or Ultra. Nvidia almost always comes ahead in head-to-head tests between Nvidia and ATI. On the other hand, ATI is cheaper I think...

You really should'nt worry much about which graphics card you have unless you're doing 3D stuff (Especially games.) For 2D, including video playback, even the slowest GPU will suffice.

I reinstate my point, go for Nvidia. Their video cards are the best.

Thanks everyone for your input!! I am trying so hard to make the right choices going into this. I haven't had a Mac in years, but with my love for video editing, i decided it was time to splurge!!! The G5 is just so impressive with Final Cut Pro. If anyone has any suggestions for must-have components, etc. for video editing, i would love to learn all i can.

nvidia..ATI SUX!!when its driver expires, video is fuzzy, somethimes when i do graphic, it SUXS..my PC, using a nvidia card, its driver is one year old++,STILL NO PROB!!! ati's driver lasted for liek 3 months? compare 1 yr n 3 months.. EVEN ON A PC!!!
