Hi

My PowerMac's (2.5 that I bought in 2005) logic board needs to be replaced? I understand it is going to be about $1000. My first question is should I invest in the repair? If I do repair it, how many more years do you think I will get out of my PowerMac.

If you think I should not repair - thoughts on purchasing Mac Pro vs Macbook Pro?

I use the Adobe Suite and possible some video software.

Thoughts??
Thanks

G'day and welcome to the forums.

As no one has answered your post, bgs, will give my two cents worth.

Depends really where you are, and your avatar does not say,.

Here in Australia 2.5GHz DP are bringing in about $1600-$1800, and dealers are even asking over the $1000 for G4 1.25DP's. Here the answer would be yes.

If you are mainland USA machine is probably worth about $1,000 so not so keen. Probably do better just offering for sale on eBay or such as is for parts and putting proceeds towards a Mac Pro.
