Someone was messing around with my friend's macbook and changed it into grayscale. I tried and realized I had no idea how to get it out of this setting. Can anyone help? I tried restarting and changing the resolutions and colors and nothing has worked.

Not sure if this is your problem, but if you have inverted screen colors, the key combo is Control-Option-Command-8. Give that a shot.

this might work but not positive. go in to system prefs>displays>colors>then calibrate on the right side. do the whole calibration then see if it works.

definitely not inverted screen colors, and I've tried calibrating but that also doesn't work. Thanks for the suggestions, though. Does anyone else have any idea?

Is it just the overall look of the buttons, menus and windows?
If it is then they just changed the appearance to Graphite.

System Preferences -> Appearance

see if the Appearance drop-down menu is set to "blue" or "graphite"

System Preferences, Universal Access, Seeing Tab. Look under Display. There should be a Checkbox that says Use Grayscale. Uncheck that. I am on 10.5.2 Leopard on an iMac.
