can my 2ghz intel core 2 duo handle 4gb of ram?

That would work assuming your Mac is capable of allowing 4GB. The first generation of Core 2 Duo MacBooks only supported 3GB.

You can always install 4GB no matter which you have, the computer won't address all of it supports 3GB.

even if you max at 3 its probably cheaper to buy a kit of 4. i got mine at newegg for 69 dollars with free shipping 2 day and it has a lifetime warranty.

works nice, id check there, possibly save some $$

bought in May, 2007 just weeks before they released the 2.2ghz... at the time it was the fastest

Looks like you have the late 2006 model (I know you bought it in 2007, that's just what they call it), which means your computer is only capable of 3GB (well, 3.3GB if you want to get technical).
