wireless mighty mouse doesn't scroll down..

my wireless mouse (OEM Apple Mighty Mouse) mysteriously stopped scrolling down. like when i scroll down with the middle wheel/ball thing in a browser window, for example, it doesn't go down.. but it still goes up, left and right. can i safely take the thing apart and check for something that could possibly be causing this? any input appreciated.

sounds like it's just dirty. Get a damp, lint-free cloth and run the ball across it upside down a few times until it starts working again.

If you still have warranty get it exchanged...

It's going to happen to every mighty mouse sooner or later.

fleurya is correct, make sure you press down fairly hard and rub it in all directions. This has done the trick for me several times. Good Luck!!
