hey all im new to this site so hey. I recently purchased a mac book. I have i stat on it and have notices what when i use skype the temperature goes up and the fan comes on and i didnt know whether this was normal??? it also happens when i use iweb any ideas

download a temperature monitoring tool and post your temperatures.

iStat Pro is a great widget for monitoring a notebook!!

from what I've read, anything below 85C is normal.
