Hi,

After 3 years of working I turned on my Macbook and it says No Airport Card Installed in the top bar. Haven't dropped it or anything like that.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Have you tried going back into System Preferences and seeing if you can turn it back on? Click on Network. It may have just lost connection and needs to be re-connected to the net...

Yep, tried all the connection issues I could think of. It doesn't seem to think it has an airport anymore.

Any other ideas?

Have you checked that it's still physically in the right place?

still under warranty?

if/if not, it sounds like the card has gone south for the winter.

Sounds like a defective Airport Card. If by chance you or anyone else uses iStat Pro, you'll notice the Airport Card runs much warmer than other measured components. If you have iStat Pro (it's a free download) check to see what the card is doing. Mine at the moment says 64 degrees. Much warmer than the CPU (49 degrees).

Regards.

It's fixed! I stopped being such a big girl, opened the insides and the airport card had just come loose. Slid that bad boy back in and it's fine!

Thanks for all your help guys.
