Just to paint the scenario, I have a 150g harddrive and I have 83g of free space. My problem is the only folders i have on my desktop total 2 gigs. Excluding applications and some library files, I have 35g of "hidden" files i wanna delete to free up as much space on the mac hd as possible. Can anyone assist me please?

TinkerTool can let you see hidden files and folders

But be very careful what you delete, make sure it is nothing of use to the system

open Terminal.
Code:
cd ~/Desktop
ls -a
That will show all hidden files on the desktop
Code:
rm .whateverthefilenameis
or
Code:
rm .thefoldername
if it's a folder.
As stated, be careful. Only delete what you KNOW you want to get rid of.
