Being new to mac (just bought a new iBook) what software should i look at for internet security. Firewall - Anti-Virus? My PC is loaded with Norton Personal Security and also the freeware stuff like Ad-Aware, Spybot, Browser Hi-Jacker, etc...

Does the Mac need as much security?

You need nothing 3rd party unless you network to windows systems. Just go in system preferences and then sharing and turn on the Mac firewall

Firewall - build-in Mac OS X, no need for an additional soft

Anti-Virus - Not needed, as there are no Mac OS X viruses that load, spread and execute themselves like on Windows. There is anti-virus for Mac too, but that's mainly to protect Windows PCs, if the Mac is on a network with Windows PCs.

For Ad-Aware, I don't know if there's an equivalent for Mac.

.mac isn't a security suite...allthough it includes anti-virus software.

Check www.mac.com if you want to know more about .mac
