Hey everyone.

I have a MBP with a broken OD, which turns out to have been caused by water damage. Because of that, Apple wants to charge $350 to replace the drive.

Are there any other authorized service providers that will replace the OD at a cheaper price? I just bought AppleCare the day my warranty would have run out, so I don't want to go voiding that right away.

Also, is there a way to isntall Leopard on my MBP? I know an external OD would work, but besides that, is there another way? Could I somehow install Remote Disc, or is that for the MBA only?

Thanks for your answers.
