hey i am trying to get my photos to display on my laptop but everytime i plug it in, nothing happens, what do i do?

What kind of camera is it? What brand/model?
How are you connecting it to the computer? Firewire, USB?
What application are you looking to have open when it is connected? iPhoto, Image Capture, etc?
