Syncing one iPod to two Macs

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to sync one iPod to two macs using the following scenario. iPod will only sync music on one mac, and will only sync calendar and contacts on the other mac. The iPod is currently set to sync everything with one iMac, but I want it to sync calendar and contacts only with a new MBP and music only with the iMac. I know that under syncing in iTunes that I can check and uncheck which items that I want to sync, but will attempting to sync to the new MBP wipe out the existing music on the iPod?
