System crashed?

Hello,
I have an iPod at hand, which won't start up anymore. It doesn't do anything when I put it on the charger (i.e. it doesn't show 'do not disconnect'), and it won't start up either. What could be wrong, and does anyone have suggestions on how to fix it, or at least on how to try and fix it?

Thank you. That did the job. At first, when I reset, nothing happened. But once I connected it to the charger, it started up..
