    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.

When I open a .mpg clip (taken from a camera) with quicktime pro I don't get the Playhead markers to crop anything, so i figured it must have to be .mp4 to do that...(??) So i got the program MPEG Streamclip, which seemed awesome at first. There were even playhead markers so i could crop it, but once i trim any section, the quality gets about 50% worse- all blurry and big pixels everywhere. I export it as high quality as i can and its still bad. Anyways, I basically just need to know how to get my .mpg clips cropped and saved so i can send them out or put them on the internet. I tried imovie also but obviously no audio will work because they're .mpg's. Pretty frustrating. What can i do?

That is funny. Streamclips pixelization result that is.

Do not do the trim function of SC. Instead export the whole video and finish editing in iMovie or QuickTime Pro.

sorry, i should have mentioned that even when i save the file at full quality without trimming it comes out with the bad quality (pixels). Is there a box that needs to be checked or something so it saves full quality? Even when it DOES get to .mp4, the trimming playheads don't show up for me in quicktime pro! sad.
