I won an Xbox 360 at work. This is great and all, Im actually quite excited. But the only problem, is I now own two. And this just seems kinda pointless to me. Well, a little at least. Im trying to think of what I can do with it. Its new, and comes with two controllers. I have a few ideas already.

Sell it, keep the money.

Sell it, buy a Wii.

Sell it and by a Time Capsule (I have a wireless linksys g right now, and no backup drive)

Give it to my little brother :|

My mom suggested that I give it to my little brother, but idk. She said she covered my ticket, so fair is fair, but that dont seem fair. Considering they said they would cover $100 a month of my rent, and they havent. Thats like a thousand dollars so far. But I am moved out, and they still help me through bumps. And free cell phone is nice. So they still got my back in alot of ways (I'm only 19) Im probably just being selfish. O:)

What would ya do? I mean, if I take it, that puts a THIRD 360 in my house (roommate) Im thinking the Wii would be great, and just keep the extra controller (that makes four for me) and save the little extra cash. It should be easy to sell a 360 in an unopened box right? Any other ideas?

Well, personally the Wii is really fun... I had one until I sold it (I get bored of ANY video game after a month or two, so it was just gathering dust, plus I needed money at the time). Coolest console I've ever played, especially Metroid Prime 3, my favorite controls to a first person game. With your brother, how old is he? Maybe you can just forget to talk about it, let it slide off the radar, then sell it and buy a wii :) I would. Trade it even directly if you can... I sold mine for 450 with 3 games easily, so the price is pretty close. I put it on craigs list, and 15 minutes later someone called me.

Selling a 360 isn't particularly easy. I've tried.

I guess I haven't. With that in mind, get brownie points, give it to your brother keeping a remote, then use the brownie points to get a Wii from your parents :)

Give it to your brother and tell him its his birthday present or if he has already had his birthday tell him its his christmas present that way you won't have to get him something for his bday or xmas.

Give the used one to your bro but keep using it and save the new one till you move out. You say your roommate will have one, right? It that's the case, you can tell the new one and buy a pack of gum with it's worth.

Kidding about what it's worth but if you can share till you move out, keep it sealed and sell if you need to later.

Ok, what I was thinking, is in an ideal situation, could I sell it, and then buy a Wii as a gift for my parents? (Family gift?) Thats what I would like to do, because I can just say "heres the xbox" but only my bro would have fun with it. My little sister and even my parents might have a little bit of fun with a Wii.

It includes

Xbox 20Gb HD $350
Xtra Controller $40
A game pack with three games $No clue

Could I get away with an ebay sale for about $300? And then just keep my eyes open for a Wii? What you all think? I know NOTHING about ebay

Go check out what they are selling for on ebay and that should tell you if you can make 300 on ebay or not. You could also list it on craigslist for your local community as well

I wouldn't say the Wii isn't fun, but unless you hang out at your place with a lot of non-gamer friends, then it will probably just gather dust.

Actually I disagree. I own a wii and I play it on my own always. My friends aren't into video games all that much. And it's still fun. In bursts though. It's a good idea. Cause you could tell your family there are a few exercise styled games out there so you can get a workout while watching the idiot box. Good for the family.

To ogacon: I own Metriod Prime 3 also. But I found the controls to it rather hard to master. I found game 1 and 2's controls way easier to use and master. But maybe it's practice. I haven't played 3 all that much. But so far it is fun though way harder then 1 and 2.

Back on topic, there is another way. Some game stores like Electronics Boutique here in Australia offer a trade in policy. You can trade in other games/consoles in exchange for other things in the store. Sure you don't get all that much for your trade. But I think it would be worthwhile asking around what these stores can do for you with your unopened xbox.

But yeah whatever you do I'd leave it totally unopened if you want to trade it in or sell it. it's keep a slightly sale value that way.

Agreed. I am certainly keeping it all unopened. Well here is the update. My dad told me that he wanted no such things in his house. Hes "tired of games." He told me to enjoy my luck, sell it, and save the money. I think I will take his advice. I normally do. In the mean time, if you want it, feel free to offer something. Thanks everyone.

Heh I tend to think of others first, but I know I'd also .... REALLLLLLY like a time capsule, so I'd say evaluate who needs which more. If you brother already has a gaming console, or if he does not take good care of his things... sell it get time capsule :) I've had a wii and while they are fun they won't keep your attention for more then a few days because alllllllll the games are the same, easy, and basically made for children. Not that i'm downing the wii, like I said fun, but just really not worth it. If your brother takes super good care of his things, and has no game system, and wants one badly, I'd just give it to him.

The taking care of things is important though. I've given things to people to have them destroy is within a week... it's not a good feeling.
