Let me start off by introducing my self. My name is Jonathan and this is my very first post, as you can all probably tell. I have a MacBook Pro 15" with a Intel Core Duo the processor is running at 2.16 ghz (not O.C.'d). It is the 1gb ram version with a 100gb hd.

Here is the problem, I had just recently purchased a 40" Samsung LCD TV and I decided to hook up the TV to my MacBook via DVI to VGA adapter and when I tried to switch my tv to the source my tv tells me that the "Mode [is] not supported". How do I fix this? I tried the search function but it was not a complete help, as no one has had the same problem with the same tv. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry, don't have time before work this morning. Hopefully, you'll get some help before I'm back. But I'll check in when I get home.

Only question for now, just to make sure, you are using the VGA port on the TV?

If you're still around, first thing, shut down both the TV and your Mac.
Disconnect and reconnect the VGA cable at both ends (computer and TV).
Turn the TV on first.
Turn the computer on after you've got a screen on the TV.

Let me know what you've got.

I got it to work thank you very much. I also noticed that I have two settings that say 1920 X 1080, 60Hz, Millions on the top right for the tool bar (you know the monitor icon next to the airport icon, functions as a shortcut) but only one of them worked. When I oped the displays preferences I noticed that one of them actually runs at 59.9Hz. 60Hz makes it display "Mode not supported". Thanks once again.
