What is the best app to use for just creating a 30-60 second audio file?

I need to create a radio spot for my media class.

If you have Quicktime Pro, it's the easiest.

Otherwise, Garageband will do your recording for you.

You have to create a new Track (Track > New Track I think). And then make it a "Real Instrument". That's all. Very easy.

garageband would be the easiest since you already have a mac.
