Hi
I have bought a Canon EOS40D and am now considering software for image processing. I already have iPhoto 2008 running on a new top spec iMac and find it much superior to previous versions.
Q1: Yesterday I downloaded the free trial of Aperture 2. I can't really see that it adds a great deal to iPhoto 2008's capabilities. Am I missing the point?
Q2: I know that Canon provide software with the camera and I have loaded it. Again, iPhoto downloads automatically from the camera and organizes images very well. The Canon menus lack screen crispness and I cant see any additional functionality with the Canon software that iPhoto doesn't provide. Again, am I missing something crucial here?
Q3: iPhoto only has fairly limited photo manipulation tools so I downloaded the 30 day free trial of Photoshop Elements (and the Bridge tool). I have yet to find the time to have a proper look at it. Is this the best tool for image manipulation for a (very) amateur photographer?
Q4: Can Aperture do what PE does? I could not readily find many of the capabilities. I also get the impression that Aperture is quite slow even on the fast 2.8G iMac. I only have 2Gb memory and may upgrade this to 4Gb if necessary.
Many thanks for any expert advice.
