Need Some Advise

I now have agateway pc and would like to buy a mini mac, Apple® - Mac mini 1.83GHz
Model: MB138LL/A

I would like to use it for building websites, I'm on a limited budget and this fits in. I'm currently useing frontpage. Does this computer come with a good web building program? Should this be ok for what I'm doing, I have an external hard drive which is quite large.

Other than that, I do believe dreamweaver works on mac which from what I hear is a nice webpage design program, comparable to frontpage. I'm not sure though, I'm not a big site designer. Someone else will be able to verify.

A new Mac mini will come with iWeb. It's a very simple web design application. I don't know of any other web page designers for Mac besides Dreamweaver but I haven't done any web design of a Mac in 6 years.

iWeb is similar to Frontpage in that it is a basic web site editor. Dreamweaver is nice but I think it's pretty expensive and it does not come with a new mac. I use iWeb and I like it. You can enter HTML into iWeb as well.

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought FrontPage was Microsoft's version of Dreamweaver. I didn't know I could add my own HTML to iWeb though. Maybe it's a more powerful web designing tool than I thought.

It should be. I don't remember web design being very processor intensive. The Mac mini is a very nice computer despite what some people say. I like it a lot.

The Mac Mini will work fine for what you are after. I have an early Core Duo Mini and it's very fast. It's very much like a Mac Book of the same specs.

There is also an application called RapidWeaver that is a very good Web design application. Like has been said, iWeb comes with the Mac so give it a shot first since it's free.

notepad? I'd rather use vi. Then again, doing it seriously I'd rather use a visual editor. For the same reason I prefer a visual editor for any code. Dreamweaver would be my choice as well, all things being equal. Perhaps because I'm used to it..

hehe, that's how I first learned. I looked at and reworked code through notepad.

Going down the Text Editor road, Textedit comes with OSX but a very good programming text editor is TextWrangler and it's free also. I do most of my basic HTML in TextWrangler.

I thought the OP wanted a program that does it for you.
