I finally am trying to consolidate all of my family's digital pictures into one library.

Much to my chagrin, many years of pictures reside on the hard drive of a Powerbook WallStreet that worked very well for 10 years. Unfortunately, we purchased it more than 10 years ago.

Fortunately, it died because of a power supply problem, so the hard drive should be in good shape.

What is the best way to recover the data from this old hard-drive. Can I simply remove the drive and plug it into another MAC?

Since the powerbook died before the advent of OSX, do I have to plug the wallstreet's hard-drive into a MAC that is not running on OSX?

Thanks,
GLD
