I suggest American Polydactyl. That's the only natural transition from Tiger to Leopard to [next].

Lynx might be good, but in the UK it is an underarm deodorant

ocelot would be good and would link in with the Philip Pullman novels (the ocelot was my demon on the films online test)

Yeh I know. Was simply stating the fact of the K-9 species as a whole is generally seen as above the feline family. Which isn't necessarily true. But still, ya know.
