Hi, Newbie here (hate saying that as I'm over 50 but you know what I mean!) I'm sure this must have been asked before but I have done a search and not found the answer!

I have just ordered 4Gb of RAM from Crucial for my PMG5, I will take out the existing 4 256Mb RAM modules and replace them with the 1Gb ones - so far so good - but is there any point in me putting the four old RAM modules back? I have 8 slots in my machine so there is space.

I'm unsure of the implications of mixing module sizes so would putting them back:

a) make no difference to the speed of my machine

b) make a slight speed increase

c) make a speed decrease!

Any help appreciated, thanks,

Vic.

As long as they're installed in pairs, the more the better. It would be an increase of 1024mb so I don't see why not.
Also, do a scan. Should show what performance you'd get and options.

Thanks for that, I'll give it a try! :)
