Sorry, I wasn't sure where this questions fits in (hardware, software, OS, accessory)

Anyway, I was just wondering if the remote for my MBP will work with any Mac. For example, if my friend has a Mac will my remote automatically work with it. Do they have some kind of specific signature have to be paired somehow? Since my MBP came with my remote, I don't know for sure.

And in case you're wondering, yes, I am planning a prank. :)

As long as you don't pair the remote, it'll work on any Mac.

Note: Obviously only any Mac that has an infrared receiver to support the Apple Remote, so that's any Macbook, any intel iMac as well as the very last iMac G5 and any intel mini, but none of the towers.
