I accidently changed my itunes directory to ../Itunes\Music on an external.

i used the wrong slash! what do i do? i dont see the folder in finder, i cant find any MP3s with spotlight. They all still play just fine in itunes though. I cant drag them from itunes into a folder on the desktop either..

Don't know that I can help.

First thing I would check though, is the location shown on the Summary tab of Get Info for the songs in iTunes. This'll give you the path. If they're playing, the files would still have to be there or iTunes would tell you it can't find them.

In itunes select a song and right click on it. There should be a show in finder option. Maybe that'll get you to the directory so you can change the slash.

BTW, the "Where" is in the summary tab of the song info.

Open iTunes
Pick a song that plays
Right click on that song
Click on Get Info
Go to the Summary tab if it is not there already
At the bottom of the Summary tab, the last section, it has "Where:" then gives you the path to the location of the song

You changed the path in the iTunes Preferences? If so, can you not open preferences and change it back? I have never seen this one before in my years of iTunes usage.

And I am only taking wild stabs here ...
am not a terminal guy at all ...
but if you changed it there, could you not just simply go there and rename it again?
