Hello I was wondering if anyone knew how to make your mac turn off automatically at a certain time in case anyone forgets to turn it off? My mothers computer she leaves on 24/7 and I am sick of going after her and turning it off. I have told her but she will not ever.

I would also like to do this for the other macs in my family Macbook Pro, Macbook, and iMac. If anyone has an application for this please let me know. Also I set parental control time limits on the computer but I do not know if it shuts off the computer.

Go into systems preferences under energy savings and set the sleep option to what time you want. Putting the unit to sleep is not the same as shutting it down, but at least you don't have it running full blast.

You can schedule shut down in the energy saver screen in system preferences
