Accidental downgrade to OS 9

I accidentally downgraded my powerbook g4 to os 9 thinking if it were that easy to downgrade, it would keep os 10.2.8 available to upgrade back. Is this true? Where could I find this OS on my mac? HELP!! THanks!

In the applications or the HD it showed OS 9 as an option to install so I just clicked that and it installed that upon reset. I can't find that simple upgrade now...

Disregard this post.....I didn't realize I can change the startup disc, and this is all i managed to do.
