Don't really need a private message as there are perfectly legal methods of doing this with your own music.

Import a song into Garageband, select the portion you want as a ringtone, and then select the Send to iTunes option. You will then have the ability to sync the song to your iPhone as a ringtone.

What version of Garageband do you need? I can't get it to work for me.

Garageband '08 (version 4.1.2 works fine for me) with the latest version of iTunes.

(It's the second menu item in the "Share" menu)

You need GB08...

I haven't been able to do it in 06. There is no ringtone option.

You can't upgrade individual programs in the iLife suite, so you would need to upgrade all of them by purchasing iLife 08.

There are other methods of making the same conversion with programs other than Garageband, but similar in function. Just do a quick Google search and I'm sure tons will come up. I think CNET did a "how to" in it a while back showing various ways to get it done.

So i have created 29 ring tones...I put them onto my iphone and in itunes it shows all 29. When i go to my iphone it shows 29 of the exact same song, not all the ones i created. I deleted them all and re synced my phone with just ten this time and it did the same thing, 10 identical songs. Any ideas guys?
