folder label color

Leopard allows you to color a folder label using about 6-8 different colors.
The colors are very pale and do not show up well in bright light conditions.
How can I make the label colors brighter (red rather than pink for example)?
PS- if candybar is capable of this, please give me a step-by-step because I can't figure it out.
