Finally got a new battery so i can use my laptop at uni.

But i notice that the battery never fully reaches the charge capacity (below info copied from about this mac - more info - power:

Charge Information:
Charge remaining (mAh): 5282
Charging: No
Full charge capacity (mAh): 5313

I've left it to charge overnight and it still hasn't reacher the full capacity. Is this normal. I followed the 'conditioning' instructions for new powerbook batteries.

That doesn't sound right. Did you get the battery from Apple, or is it a 3rd party supplied replacement?

I noticed that you lopped off the number of load cycles in your snapshot. How many does it say?

My bet would be that the battery sat in stock for a long time. I would call Apple and see if you can get an exchange. It should be under warranty yet.

Is it unusual that the battery has already lost 2% of its life, after 4 days of use?

Thanks

Absolutely, hence why I've recommended you contact Apple about an exchange.
