G5 memory not showing up

hey all,

this is for my computer at work.

just got 2, 512 sticks of RAM for my dual 1.8g POWERMAC G5 (superdrive). put them in and they arent registering. any ideas? the little black clips on either end of the stick wont close all the way but the RAM is inserted as far as it can go. thanks in advance.

nevermind, i got it. im always just afraid to push too hard on the memory sticks. theyre in and working and man this thing is fast now.

p.s. ive heard that its a good thing to "zap your PRAM" every time you add memory. is this the case?

Yes, DIMMs do take some force to seat them properly, I've sen some PCs even take quite a bit a power to get them all the way in. Even on my eMacs it took quite a bit of pressure to get them in. It's normal.
