No one specified the OSes we could talk about, so...
I was at Apple camp over the summer. The Apple Store guy launched Garage Band, and it kernel panicked as he said "This is what we will be doing today." I bursted into laughter as the zealots around me looked like they wanted to kill me.
Once, I was walking by the Apple Store and I noticed that one of the PowerBooks on display had an error on it. People who walked by were pointing an laughing, so I joined in.
When I got my PowerBook back from Apple, the genius said "Here you go, its fixed this time..." and I got a kernel panic when it was booting up. I will never forget the look on the ladies face next to me who was also picking up her computer from repair.
There was a little kid who was playing on one of the eMacs that they have in the Apple Store. I was looking at the software when he bursted into tears. Since I have a soft side (its true) I went to go see what was wrong. The game had crashed as the little kid screamed "Mommy it was an accident!"
One of the Apple Store guys was explaining OS X to someone interested in purchasing their first Mac. Since I'm nosy, I listened. When he was explaining UNIX and how the OS never crashes, and then moved to how easy the interface is. She launched Photoshop on the G5 and the system locked up (as in the clocked stopped, and the mouse froze, not a kernel panic.) The lady said "It doesn't crash? Why isn't the mouse moving?" She stomped out of the store in a rage because the guy had just lied to her.
