hey everyone,

i'm relatively new here...I have a quick question regarding my dual g4 powermac.

i've noticed within the last few weeks there is this squeeky noise coming out of my powermac. when i turn it off or put it to sleep, the noise diminishes. so i opened it up (pulling it out from the side of course) and the noise came out from the fan that i'm assuming cools the processors.

i'm wondering if anyone has heard of this and/or knows what to do. please help, the sound gets annoying at times. before it used to be so quiet :(

Thanks all

Have you simply tried taking a can of compressed air and blowing any dust out of the fan and it's housing?
