Is there any way of preventing OS X from creating these files on removable drives (USB) or Windows-based network shares, as they're irritatingly distracting on Windows machines?

Thanks in adv :)

I would say no. The only was to avoid those files from appearing. Is not to access the drives from the aqua interface. Thise files are use in keeping track of the likes of screen placement, window that are open, and other things.

Also I know you can delete the .ds_store files, but I am not sure about the .trash directory.
