When I booted up tonight, I got a message reporting that a date had been selected earlier than 2001, and when I opened date & time to investigate, the "set automatically" option was unchecked and my calendar had reverted back to 1969. Anyone else encounter this?

Welcome to Mac-Forums.

I don't know which Mac model you have but this usually means a dead PRAM battery that you can buy at a Radio Shack or something.

are you hooked up to a network? i've found that if you're connected to a network and are getting your time/date from a server, and then you become disconnected, your time/date will get all wonky. just fyi.

Change the PRAM battery as MHC suggested asap.
