Did you remember to put The Unarchiver somewhere in your hard drive (Applications folder preferably) and open it before trying to open the 7-zip? The first time you open it, you can specify which kinds of archives you want it to handle. Be sure to check the 7-zip box.

They're all checked.

The unarchiver page says it can open those files.... maybe file is corrupt in some way? Maybe the file extension should say 7zip. It (7 zip) is a windows program after all.

Yea, the only thing I can think is that it's corrupt or maybe someone put the .7z extension when it's not really a .7z file. Not sure why someone would do that, but it's a slight possibility :)

Wold you mind uploading the file? I'd like to check it out to see whether it's something just on your end, since I've successfully opened .7z files with The Unarchiver on my old PowerBook G4. If it isn't, I'm sure the developers of the program would love to know about it so they can fix their program.
